Mandalay is the traditional heart of Burma, where its monarchy has resided and is located in the centre of the country. Mandalay is the second most important city after Yangon and the most important business centre of Myanmar. Places of interest for day trips include May Myo, Mingun, Amarapura, Sagaing and Ava.
First and Second Day
England to Burma. Overnight on board arriving in Yangon via Europe and/or a capital city in Asia. Arrival to Yangon and transfer to the hotel and check-in. A panoramic excursion around the capital is included. An English speaking guide will show you the most emblematic sites of the capital including the Sule Pagoda, Scott Market.
Third day
Yangon / Bagan
Transfer to airport for the outbound flight to Bagan followed by transfer to the hotel. After check in at the hotel there will be some time to relax before visiting the most beautiful temples in Bagan. During your stay in Bagan, wheather permitting, you will enjoy a sunset from the top of the temple Phya-tha-da and also from a typical boat while sailing the Ayeyawaddy River .
Fourth day
A guided tour of the temples is included in the package. There is also a trip to the local market and a cruise on the Ayeyawaddy River. A trip around the beautiful temples of Ananda, Shwezigon, Dhammayangyi and Hti Io Min Lo complex can be made either by air conditioned traditional vehicle or, for the more daring guest, by Bike. There will also be an opportunity to visit the local market of Nyaung 00. Optional excursions include a tour of Mount Popa and a hot air balloon flight.
Fifth-day
Bagan/Mandalay
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival we will visit the city, its beautiful palace and its traditional pagodas and monasteries. Half day excursions to Sagaing, the Amarapura looms and its beautiful U-Bein bridge (the longest teak wood bridge in the world) are included.
Sixth and Seventh-day
Tour of Mandalay and its surroundings
Tour to Mingun to see the largest brick pagoda in the world. Upon our return, and time permiting, we will visit Ava in a traditional horse cart. Continuing to the top of the hills of Sagaing to enjoy the wonderful view of the golden Burma, filled with multiple sanctuaries near the Ayeyawaddy River. At the Kuthodaw Pagoda you can find what is known as the "world's largest book" and contemplate its impressive Mahamuni Buddha, covered with gold leaf.
Eighth-day
Mandalay / Heho
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho. Upon arrival transfer is by road to Nyaung Shwe town which is on Lake Inle, from where you will take a motor boat to your hotel. After check-in at the hotel there will be some time to relax before begining the tour which includes Phaung Daw Oo pagoda and the Monastery of Cats. Half board with breakfast and dinner included.
Ninth-day
Transport around the lake is included during your stay. A tour to the local towns and markets is made by boat, except before full moon, when the market is usually closed. There is an option to go trekking from the markets, and for the more daring guests an opportunity to visit Kalaw. The stay in Inle is half board.
Tenth-Day
Heho / Yangon
Arrival in Yangon followed by transfer to the hotel. Time to relax or browse the local shops.
Eleventh-day
Breakfast is followed by transfer to the airport for your return flight. The trip will continue for those wish to extend their stay.
