Myanmar Gold can provide you a list of travel agencies throughout Spain and Portugal where you can buy the trip from. Myanmar Gold is a tour operator that sells its products through travel agencies.
Although initially there might be a relationship between the client and the tour operator, at the time of buying the trip and once the route is defined, all comunications between customer and tour operator must pass through a travel agency.
There are no additional fees for buying the tours through a travel agency.
Can I join an organized group?
Myanmar Gold does not organize regular tours and does not mix travelers from different travel agencies. Myanmar Gold only sells tailor made trips with private guides and private services of transport, from one person to a group of 3,4,6,10,20 people or more, but always for groups travelling together from the origin.
We can organize, support and promote the sale of a trip organized by a travel agency or organization but Myanmar Gold never mix passengers not travelling together from the origin.
What does it means to have a private guide during my trip?
In most of the Southeast Asia countries is difficult to communicate with people if you do not speak their language. Leaving hotels aside, many people does not speak English. Normally, the day trips require to make part of the journey by boat and part by road (for example Inle Lake in Myanmar or the Perfume River in Hue ...). To coordinate these transfers is difficult without a guide. We strongly recommend you to include a guide during your trip. Having a private guide implies freedom for deciding how long you want to be in every monument or place.
Do I have to eat with the guide?
No. Normally the guides shift is from 9 am to 18:00 pm and have an hour to eat usually between 12:00 and 13:00. We believe it is important to respect this hour of rest, for both, the guide & the customer.
Can I change the order of visits?
Yes, that's the advantage of having a private guide. You can take control of your itinerary.
Beach during the monsoon
During the monsoon season (June-September) is when most Europeans have their holiday. It is when more Spanish and Portuguese are traveling to Southeast Asia. During the monsoon, it usually rains in the early morning and late afternoon. Whenever it's hot, there is no impediment to visit the countries of Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand at this time.
Myanmar Gold does not sell extensions to the beaches of Myanmar from June to September (both month included). At this time we recommend the extensions of Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi, Samui, Nha Trang, Bintan, Bali or the Maldives to enjoy the beach.
Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi and Maldives are areas also affected by the monsoon from June to September, but contrary to what happens in Myanmar, these countries receive a lot of tourism throughout the year and its hotels are open the entire year. We do not sell the Burmese coast from June to September because most of the hotels close during that time. Only one or two hotels are open. The feeling is arriving to a place completely out of season. In Phuket this does not happen because there is more tourism and there are much more infrastructures.
In Samui or Bali it does not usually rain until December and although the beaches are not as beautiful as in Phuket, Maldives, Ngapali, Krabi and Phi Phi, the climate might be good during Monsoon season.
In Nha Trang (Vietnam) the rain does not usually arrive until late November & December. June, July, August and September are excellent months for a trip to this coast.
Why Myanmar Gold does not usually include lunch or dinner in its itineraries?
Because we believe is better to make a direct payment of these services. Unless for groups of more than 6 people, it's easy to coordinate these services at destination. If we provide you with a private guide and we book the meals in a certain restaurant , you will miss the flexibility to change the agenda. In general, eating throughout Southeast Asia is very cheap. A meal at a local restaurant costs between $ 5-10 per person and at the hotel at around $ 20 per person. The most expensive drinks are those that need to be imported.
Transfers during the trip:
Myanmar Gold recommends to go from one extension to another (in Myanmar & Vietnam) by plane. The roads are very bad in general and traveling by car, bus or boat is not recommended. Moreover, the security controls at airports are not similar to a Western country. Everything is much faster and more assistance is provided to the passenger.
A trip from Mandalay to Bagan by road normally takes around 8 hours. In monsoon season, the itinerary can take you 12-15 hours. By air, the journey takes 30 minutes. By boat, the journey can take from 9 to 14 hours, depending on the course of the river, the speed of the vessel, conditions that day .. We can not guarantee an hour of arrival at destination.
Climate:
Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos are very unique country, which like many areas of the world, is highly influenced by its climate, totally Tropical with significant rainfall during the months of June, July, August and September.
High season: From October to April
Low Season: May through September
